The Marmara University Research Center for International Relations was established in 1994 by the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University. It has become a leading institution for international relations studies in Turkey. As of January 2025, the center will celebrate its 31st anniversary!

MURCIR is actively continuing its work in international relations and political science, building on its strong foundation from the past. The organization is expanding its collaborations on a global scale through various international relations research networks. MURCIR aims to analyze developments in Turkey and around the world while adhering to universal democracy and human rights standards. Additionally, it seeks to contribute academically to the development of Turkey's relations with its neighbouring regions and to create projects that support this goal.
