Dr. Abel Polese
NATION BUILDING IN UKRAINE AFTER 1991: BUILDING OR DESTROYING THE UKRAINIAN NATION?
Dr. Abel Polese is from the University of Edinburgh and being also Marie Curie Fellow, he conducts Turkey part of his research at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Marmara University during 2008-2009 academic year.
In his speech Dr. Polese presented his field researh in Odessa. He discussed the conception of nation-building in Ukraine through the use of Ukranian language offically and in daily lives of the Ukranian society. He also narrated by giving examples how people use the Ukranian language which has been accepted as the official language in 1995 Constitution and about the practices to implement Ukranian language as the official language of Ukraine.
